Beverly Hedrick, president and founder of the Women Lawyers Alliance, has 25 years of experience helping professional services providers grow their practices. She began her career working with physicians and hospitals and for the past 14 years she has worked exclusively with lawyers and law firms.
From 1997 to 2008 Beverly was the director of business development at a medium-sized Nashville-based law firm, during which time she developed a keen understanding of the pressures lawyers face while trying to practice law, develop business and balance life/work issues. While at the firm she logged many hours coaching the firm’s top rainmakers and became the “go-to” person for the firm’s most successful lawyers.
During that time she became interested in, and began to research and study, the issues facing women in the private practice of law in particular.
In 2008 she left her "in-house" position and became a partner in a consulting firm and in 2009 she founded the Women Lawyers Alliance. Today, she devotes much of her time providing strategic growth consultation to lawyers and law firms throughout the country.
Beverly also continues to coach lawyers on best practices in business development and frequently speaks at conferences and workshops on topics ranging from business development to social media marketing. She also has been a guest lecturer at Vanderbilt University School of Law.
She is active in her community by serving on various non-profit boards. She currently serves on the board of the Nashville chapter of the YWCA. After serving as chair of the YWCA’s Development Committee and member of the Racial Justice Committee, she now serves on the Advocacy Committee.
Beverly grew up in Denver, Colorado and attended Colorado State University majoring in Psychology and Communications. She now makes Nashville, Tennessee her home.
